Set up your mail.wactivity.com email account in Outlook (Windows)

Step-by-step instructions for adding your Wactivity email account to Outlook on Windows—in both the new and classic versions of Outlook—using automatic or manual setup.

Before you begin

Have your full email address and password handy. If you have two-step verification enabled, create an app password for your computer first and use that instead of your regular password.

Your domain publishes the automatic configuration that Outlook uses (autodiscover), so it should normally find the servers on its own and only ask you for your email address and password. The manual steps are provided in case it doesn’t.

Step-by-Step

  1. Open “Add Account.” In the new Outlook: the Settings gear icon › Accounts › Email Accounts › Add Account. In classic Outlook: File › Add Account.
  2. Enter your full email address (for example, ) and click Continue or Connect.
  3. If Outlook finds the settings, it will ask for your password: enter it and proceed to step 6.
  4. If it doesn’t find them, select Advanced Options › Set up my account manually, then IMAP.
  5. Enter the servers:
  • Incoming mail: mail.wactivity.com, port 993, SSL/TLS encryption.
  • Outgoing mail: mail.wactivity.com, port 465, SSL/TLS encryption. Change the encryption first, then the port: if you do it the other way around, Outlook Classic will automatically reset the port to 25.
  • Username: your full email address; password: your email password (or app password).
  1. Click Connect and wait a few seconds. If Outlook offers to set up your mobile device as well, you can skip that step.
  2. Done. The account appears on the left. Send yourself an email to test that it sends and receives messages.

If it doesn’t work

  • If, when sending, it says the outgoing server requires authentication: in the account settings, under More Settings › Outgoing Server, check “My outgoing server requires authentication” and enter the same credentials as for the incoming server.
  • The username is the full email address, not just the part before the @.
  • Log in to mail.wactivity.com with the same password. If you can’t log in there either, the problem is the password, not the program.
  • With two-step verification enabled, Outlook needs an app password, not your regular password.
  • The rest of the details and what to check are in “Set Up Your Email in Any Program.”

With your AI assistant

You can ask it things like: “Outlook won’t let me send emails from my Wactivity account: let’s check the outgoing server.”
